The Kitty Sitter - Terms & Conditions (as at January 2022)
Please read the following terms and conditions as they form part of the contract between the Kitty Sitter and the owner for the services provided. Any work undertaken by the Kitty Sitter will be on the understanding that the client has read and is in agreement with the statements detailed.
- The Kitty Sitter cannot be held responsible for any loss or accident occurring to the cat if the animal has outdoor access.
- Alternatively, the cat must be kept indoors whilst the owner is away.
- Outdoor cats must be vaccinated, wormed and flea treated with a veterinary standard product prior to departure.
- Any previous or ongoing health issues that may reoccur must be disclosed at the initial visit.
- Full medication instructions must be made available to the Kitty Sitter.
- If handling is required for the medication to be given then trial visits must be arranged prior to the owners departure. The number of visits will depend entirely on how the cat responds to being approached and handled by a stranger. These visits will be charged at the normal rate.
- If the cat becomes violent/unpredictable then alternative arrangements must be made for medication to be given.
- " If the cat requires veterinary treatment during the owners absence it will be sought on the understanding that all costs will be met in full upon the owners return.
- " If the cat is not registered with any veterinary practice, the Kitty Sitter will use whichever practice is appropriate regardless of costs and subject to the owner meeting the costs in full.
- The client will be expected to provide all food and litter.
- The Kitty Sitter is happy to supply extra if needed on the full understanding that any additional costs will be met in full upon owners return.
- The Kitty Sitter will keep receipts to provide proof of purchase.
- If the cat becomes violent/unpredictable during the owners absence the Kitty Sitter reserves the right to make alternative arrangements for the duration of the sit.
- The Kitty Sitter will provide food and clean water for rabbits and other small animals however cage cleaning and maintenance is not part of the service.
- The same Terms and Conditions described herein also apply to these animals
- Any doors/windows required to be kept open/closed must be discussed at time of interview, failure to inform the Kitty Sitter of any such requirements may result in the cat being shut in or out of certain rooms.
- If the Kitty Sitter encounters any issues with the operation of any doors/windows requiring professional assistance/fees, the Kitty Sitter will contact the owner to agree any actions. However, should professional/ assistance result in fees, the owner will meet those fees in full upon their return or make arrangements to pay those fees directly.
- Curtains & blinds- the Kitty Sitter will open/close these as required but this must be discussed at interview.
- Plants & gardens- the Kitty Sitter will water a small number of houseplants subject to prior agreement (detailed instructions are required) but owing to time constraints is unable to water gardens or large numbers of plants.
- Bins & Recycling - the Kitty Sitter will put out bins and recycling containers, provided that they are ready to go. Please leave instructions detailing which days bins are collected in your area.
- Post & parcels - The Kitty Sitter will pick up the post and place out of direct sight of windows. Parcels left in outside areas on the property can be brought in also. Packages left with neighbours or at the post office must be collected by owner upon their return.
- Smoke Alarms - the owner must ensure that the alarms and batteries have been checked prior to the sit.
- Burglar Alarms - the owners must provide full instructions. Should any issues be encountered, the Kitty Sitter will contact the owner to agree any actions.
- The owner must confirm to the Kitty Sitter via text or phone that they have arrived home. This is to ensure that you are safely home and have not encountered any delays which may result in the Kitty Sitter providing additional visits.
- To be made by cash or bank transfer.
- The total cost of the sit will be calculated by myself in advance of the initial visit.
- A non-refundable deposit of 25% will be paid prior to commencement of the sit.
- The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 48 hours following owners return.
- Late payments may result in no further sitting service.
- More than 28 days in advance will result in loss of the non-refundable deposit
- More than 14 days but less than 28 days - a cancellation charge of 50% of the total fee is payable
- More than 3 days but less than 14 days - a cancellation charge of 75% of the total fee is payable
- Less than 3 days will result in the full fee being payable
